Casual Friday... Not Really For Me...

Friday is always a bit of a challenge for me with regard to my wardrobe.  Our office does honor the whole "Casual Friday" thing so many of my office mates imbrace the concept in all of its glory.  Actually, most of them do.  That's okay, it just isn't me.

I am more comfortable and feel more confident when I have "dressed up" so I tend to do just that most days of the week.  I am the one that has even been known to "dress up" even when I know I will be staying home all day.  Call me geek, I can take it.  Hee Hee

With that said, here is what I chose to wear to work today:

Ordinarily I would have gone straight for the black boots but this morning I decided to step a little outside of my "comfort zone" and go with the chestnut color.  Did it work?

I think the blouse & skirt just go so well together.  How about you?

Thought I would include the closeup on the neckline because I think you have got to see the frilliness (word?) to truly appreciate just how "girly" it really is.

No way I would let you go without a closeup on these boots.  LOVE them.  Had them for years.  In my estimation it is not possible to own too many good pairs of boots.  These are Born.  NOTHING is more comfortable.  I have owned many brands over the years but I have slowly (still working on it) weeded out the others in favor of a closet filled exclusively with Born boots.  Try them sometime.

Suffice it to say, I feel quite "feminine" today.  The skirt is flowing and a beautiful paisley pattern.  Although certainly not silk, it feels light and airy the way silk does.  The blouse is just the same.  One problem, I really should pay more attention to the local weather forecast.  Ha!  A little cold today for "light & airy".  As much as I love my leathers I manage to pick the first freeze of the year to step out in this ensemble.  Ironic, huh?

Well, I had planned to ramble on about how I have been the "skirts & blouse girl" since about 8th grade but, alas, time has caught up to me so I will save that for another day.  I just know you are on the edge of your seat...

Hope You Have A Sensational Weekend!

  4. Yes it totally worked! I just wish we got to see the outfit on you!! :)

I wish my office would do Casual Friday. I love dressing up a good pair of denim trousers (aka dressy jeans - yes, there is such a thing). Heels, a blazer, a great blouse - nothing casual about that outfit!

  5. Cute skirt and the chestnut boots were definitely a better and unexpected choice over black boots. I always like to go with the unexpected for the outfits to be what I call 'blog worthy'.
