Those Red Heels Again...

What can I say?

They are gorgeous shoes &  I love wearing them.

This post has to be quick.  I have loads of preparation to do this morning for a client meeting this afternoon.  No time for droning on today.

Simple black pencil skirt + red oxford + a fabulous pair of red heels = blow away the client!

HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY!

MONDAY: Houndstooth...

Houndstooth

Is there a better pattern?

If there is, I just cannot imagine it.

Mix in a great pair of high heels and a little red... impeccable.

Agreed?

These beauties came from Kohl's about a year ago.

They were an early acquisition as I seek to broaden my collection of high heel shoes in an effort to improve my standing within the Society Of High Heel Lovers

I know that this particular print is all over the place but you can look here if you are interested in what Kohl's has at the moment.  Unfortunately, no shoes.  Sorry.

So does the skirt match the pair of heels or the other way around?

I suspect I have to say the latter since this lovely skirt has been in my closet for far longer.  I picked it up at Harold's (collective swoon of disappointment) before they went out of business a few years ago.  I still miss Harold's

The red oxford provides a little punch of color and fits right in.

Pretty together... yea?

Whoops... let the time slip up on me this morning... better run!

Have A Great Monday!

Election Day 2012...

There is no bigger day in American history than the election (or re-election) of the President.

In the spirit of this wonderful reflection of our sacred democratic process...

Another "Red, White & Blue" ensemble...

I think this is my favorite of the three "Red, White & Blue" outfits that I put together back on the day of the second Presidential Debate.  I missed the final debate so the other combination should be seen on Veteran's Day, November 11th.  Cross your fingers... Hee Hee

Here was the first ensemble.

Which is your favorite?

This one is probably my favorite because of this red oxford.

I wear this shirt with numerous items in my closet.  Very versatile.

I see many bloggers doing "30x30" challenges and I always applaud them.  I would never take on such a challenge but in many respects I do it every single day.

Versatility is a must when I decide to bring something home from the store.  I am a HUGE fan of the "mix & match" flexibility an item can provide.  Many different outfits... one piece.

Although it is no secret to those that read my blog that I also adore this lightweight denim skirt from Ann Taylor LOFT.

This skirt is a recent acquisition but it is fast becoming one of my favorites.

It is just so easy to "dress up" for work or "dress down" for less formal occassions.  I actually wore it to my niece and nephew's soccer game a couple of weeks ago.  Paired it with a t-shirt... easy... "casual"... still in keeping with my personal style.

As you know, I am just not the blue jeans sort of girl.

Throw in a simple pair of white heels from Liz Claiborne and I think you have a pretty cute ensemble.

White after Labor Day... the horror!

Just kidding... Halloween was only a few days ago so it seemed like a funny comment.

Maybe not?

Seriously, just another time that The Leather Skirt ignores the "rules of fashion."

Hee Hee

Well?  Agree?

For my USA readers... Regardless of your political leanings... I hope you will vote today!  It does matter!

There are those around the world watching... those that would die for the opportunity... do not take the responsibility lightly!

I have already done my civic duty.  The line was not too bad.  Go out... vote!

It Just Seemed Appropriate...

I really wanted to get this post up early in the day today.

I just felt like it had to be posted before the date gets away from us all.

Today is the 11th anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy.

I am not certain that "anniversary" is really an appropriate word?

"Anniversary" suggests a celebration.

There is NOTHING to celebrate about that horrible day.

But... Is there a better word?  I am just not that talented of a wordsmith.

Before I go on, let me be clear, I am in no way taking sides.  I am not interested in sharing my views on why this attack happened or all of the political turmoil and wars that have followed.  This is not the forum.

Know only this, regardless how you feel about the politics, I hope we can agree that almost 3,000 lives cut short is a tragedy.  An awful act of terrorism that I truly hope never sees our shores again.

GOD BLESS ALL OF THOSE THAT WERE TOUCHED SO DEEPLY ON THAT DAY!!!!

Now on to far more frivolous affairs... what am I wearing today?

Given the date... red, white & blue just seemed appropriate.

Oddly, I do not recall having ever worn this ensemble on July 4th though.  Perhaps next year?

I am sorry that the shoes turned out blurry.  I was in a huge hurry to get to the office this morning and time to take outfit photos really was not allotted.  Alas, the trials & tribulations of fashion blogging...

Isn't this skirt fun?  Harold's... ahh, Harold's.

I think the inverted pleats just take an otherwise mundane skirt and make it special.

Who doesn't love a great red oxford?  This one is quite light, too.  She gets year round wear.

Put them together...

Throw in my beloved (and well loved) blue Liz Claiborne heels and this is what we have...

So... appropriate?  Patriotic enough?

At the coffee shop this morning I had two lovely ladies comment on how much they liked my outfit.

One said, "Lovely."

The other said, "Such a nice looking outfit, especially for today."

Thank you my dear.

I am a bit of a narcissist (minimum requirement to be a blogger, I think... Hee Hee) so...

...I always LOVE the compliments.

As for next year... now I am thinking that those red heels and that red pencil skirt that I have been clamoring for... absolutely necessary.  I cannot be expected to duplicate this exact ensemble on every patriotic day in the calendar, can I?

Hee Hee

I hope all of you have a WONDERFUL day.

Please take a moment and say a little prayer for those that lost loved ones 11 years ago.
