Something New... Something New...

Have I mentioned how much I truly LOVE Ann Taylor LOFT?

Of course I have.

Hee Hee

Actually, you might even describe me as a bit obsessed.  I cannot help myself.  Their clothes are just soooo my personal style.  I get their e-mail solicitations daily and I cannot help but go look.

Is there ever anything new on the website?

Rarely.

Does it matter that I know that?

Not at all.

Is anyone else that obsessed with a specific retailer?

Anyway... today's ensemble...

What do you think of the color of this skirt?

Ann Taylor calls it Teal Night.  I prefer to think of it simply as gorgeous.  LOVE the color, whatever you want to call it.

I cannot tell you how much I like this skirt.  I do not have the words.

The only thing that is somewhat troubling... teal is not quite as flexible as black or white... my fail safe "colors."

Fortunately, all of my black and white tops will go well with it.

Hee Hee

It is still available here if you like what you see?

Speaking of black and white...

I went with my striped blouse from Casual Corner today.

Do they "work" together?

This is a great blouse.  I have had it for years.

I wear it quite often.  I just think it is quite sharp.  How about you?

One of my favorite ensembles is pairing this blouse with my black leather skirt.  I wear that combination at least once each Fall/Winter... probably more often than that.

Hee Hee

To finish things off I finally got a chance to wear my new black patent leather high heels.

How gorgeous are these shoes?

I found these babies at Nordstrom Rack while out shopping with my dear friend Cindy a few days ago.

You may remember that her wonderful husband Rob gave her a "day off" to spend some time with me?

Franco Sarto high heels for $44.97!!!  I just HAD to have them.  Besides, how many different outfits go well with black heels?

Sometimes I justify needless purchases far too easily.

Hee Hee

And the finished look...

Just another standard ensemble for a member of both the Community of Girls Who Love Skirts and the Society of High Heel Lovers.

What do you think?

Well, lunchtime is over.  Gotta go!

Looking forward to reading your thoughts.  Your comments always make my day.  Yea... I really am that shallow.

Have a Wonderful Day!!!

Saturday Is Made For Leather...

I am the BIGGEST fan of dressing in the Fall.

THE BIGGEST FAN!!!

I am not really sure just how "Fall" today really will be as the forecast calls for temps well into the 70's (Fahrenheit) but the winds are supposed to be quite stiff so it should feel a little cooler.

Truth... I am tired of waiting... it IS November 10th!

If you read my blog at all, you also know that I am a HUGE fan of wearing my leather skirts.

I know, I know... understatement.

If you are new to my blog, you probably guessed that by the title alone.

However, during the Fall and Winter there is just NOTHING in my closet more fun to wear than my beloved leather pants.  LOVE them!

I have left comments on a number of blogs in recent weeks regarding my "Saturday Uniform."

I call it a "uniform" but it is really more like a "formula."

Simply put...

Leather Pants + Great Sweater + Heels = Wonderful Ensemble.

This particular pair is from North Beach Leather... one of the finest purveyor's of leather clothing that I have ever discovered.  Unfortunately, like Harold's, Casual Corner and so many other retailer's that captured my attention... North Beach Leather was also felled by the Great Ressession.

Life goes on.

I still have my leather dress slacks so it cannot all be bad.

I have a pair of leather jeans and I wear them from time to time but I find myself gravitating towards my "dressier" pair more and more frequently.

What can I say?  I like being "dressed up."

In addition to leather, I like black.  Black is versatile and always chic.

Naturally, my only leather pants would be black.  Have seen some great colors this Fall but the only ones that have made my heart flutter a bit have been the burgundy.  Hmmm...

In addition to black, I like RED, I like RED very much.

Put red and black together... match made in heaven.

I'm just saying...

This sweater is from Casual Corner.  I could not even guess how long I have had it.  Does anyone even remember that store?

100% cashmere.  Soft.  I mean... super soft.

Add in a wonderful cowl neck collar... perfect sweater in my eyes.

I tucked the sweater in just for this picture.  I wanted to show you a closer look at the seem work and detailing that North Beach Leather put into their work.  Flawless.

Truth... this sweater is far too short to be tucked in so I always wear it out on the weekends.  Sometimes when I wear it to work I hassle with trying to keep it tucked simply because I think any top that is tucked in  is sharper and provides for a more "finished" look to the ensemble.

What do you think?

I wear a variety of boots and shoes with these leather pants.  I wear boots and "dress shoes" with these pants, it depends upon my mood on any given day.  I also like to add a little color to an ensemble with different shoes from time to time.

My default... black boots, always low cut.  Today I went with that as I feel like the red sweater has the "color thing" taken care of all by itself.  Hee Hee

Cute boots.  "Sensible" heels.  I am actively looking for some that I like with a little more heel height.

I have seen a couple of pairs that I liked but it has been hard to justify the money as I just do not like low cut boots with skirts and, as you know, I rarely wear slacks.

Will probably just get some more wear out of these although the "winter clearances" are not that many months down the road... Hmm...

Hee Hee

A quick update for my regular readers...

I have almost completed my "answers" to your "questions" from my post a few days ago.  I will try to get them posted on Monday.  I have a special ensemble in mind already for Veteran's Day tomorrow so I intend to get that posted first.

As always, I love reading your comments and appreciate them all so very much.  I do try very hard to return them in kind but I know I have been remiss of late.  I am striving to catch back up.  Please do not give up on me.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Boots Weather...

September in Dallas is always something to behold.

One day it can easily be 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) and the next it can just as easily be in the 60's.

Today's high temperature was right around 70 degrees.  A chill in the air due to the off and on rain.

So how does The Leather Skirt celebrate such a welcome on rush of fall?

Why boots... and my classic black leather pencil skirt, of course.

When I sauntered out of my apartment this morning here is what I was wearing.

If you are an avid reader of my blog, you will not be surprised to learn that I am still wearing this ensemble, head to toe.  This outfit will take me from the office and well into my evening dinner plans.

There is simply no better day/evening transitional piece than this awesome skirt.

Believe it or not, I did not start with my skirt when pulling together this outfit.  I actually started with a pair of my beloved tall black boots.

I could have selected my beauties by Born.  Imminently comfortable.  Fantastic "walking boot."

But I decided that since today would be spent driving from location to location with very little walking... a "touch" of fashion would prevail.

I think the buckle is a nice touch.

How about you?

Since I would not be hibernating in the office all day, I felt like a crisp blouse would be better suited than a sweater.  Black & white vertical stripes should do the trick.  Sharp & comfortable.

It just so happens that I think this blouse and this skirt are a "match made in heaven," too.

Can you believe that tag?  Do you even remember Casual Corner?

It used to be one of my favorite stores... until I discovered Harold's.

It seems that my liking a store is the kiss of death.

Look out Ann Taylor LOFT & Talbots.  Hee Hee

Today was a bit of an interesting experience.  People are funny.

While out I decided coffee would be nice so I popped into a local convenience store.  Pour my cup, go up to the register and I am greeted by the cashier.

At first all is typical, "Can I help you?" Etc, Etc...

Then I notice that as she is making change she is "double taking" but not looking me in the eye.  She is clearly confused as she is fixated on my skirt.

Can I let this opportunity go?  Of course not.

So I say, "Yes, it is leather."

Clearly surprised, she responds, "Oh, I hadn't noticed."

Noticed what?  How does anyone "not notice" something when they are clearly looking?

Anyway...

I reply, "The skirt.  I thought I noticed you admiring my skirt but you seemed a bit confused."

Her, "Oh... oh, yes, the skirt.  I guess I was wondering?"

Me, "So, do you like it?"

Her, "Oh... oh, yes, I suppose so?"

Me, "Well, thank you for the compliment."

With a perplexed look on her face she wished me a good day.

I just LOVE catching people off guard like.  Don't you?

Question, why did she not seem to have any interest in my awesome boots or my blouse?

Hee Hee

The rest of day, rather mundane.  No other episodes of interest to report.

Officer Jordan out...

Have A Great Weekend!
