The Rule Breaker...

This will be one of my shortest post yet.

Yes, I know some of you are thrilled.

Hee Hee

You see, it is well after midnight here and I literally just got in from work.  At about 4:30 today my awesome boss (she really is) strolled in to tell me that we had just gotten the opportunity to to see a client but it is LAST MINUTE and UNEXPECTED.  Proposal MUST come together today as she on the first flight out to go make our pitch.  Okay... let's dig in.

At least I was cute (or at least I thought so) while working into the late hours of the night.  Oh, and I am not the one that will be at DFW Airport in just a few short hours either so things can always be more difficult.

Onto far less critical things... what did I wear today?

Today I started with my white Liz Claiborne heels.  I just felt like it.  Not actually what I had planned the night before.

So I often do not conform to traditional "rules" of the fashion world... call me a rebel.

So who says you cannot wear white after Labor Day?  Does anyone really know?  Why not?

Followed the heels up with a white blouse AND a great pink linen skirt just to make sure I had broken all of the rules regarding post Labor Day attire.  Call Me A Rebel,

Hee Hee

Fortunately I had snapped these photos this morning before leaving for the office.

SO... What do you think?
The pictures are doing funky things tonight?  Too tired to fight with it anymore.

Hope it works once I "publish?"

Have A Great Day!

Jordan Turns 40 Today...

No not me, a dear friend who also happens to be named Jordan.  Got you, didn't I?  Hee Hee

I have known her for years.  We worked together and have kept in touch through job changes, marriage, kids and the passing of time.  She is one of my girlfriends that I often meet for dinner & drinks.

She & I have such similar wardrobe taste and habits... even since she has become a mother.  Impressive.  Jordan may also be found at the grocery store on Saturday morning rocking her leather skirt!  Kinship like that runs deep I tell you.  Hee Hee

Her husband (Billy) actually calls me "Other Jordan" whenever we are together.  I prefer "Sexy Jordan", perhaps "Jordan The Great" but, alas, I guess his wife does deserve top billing.  Hee Hee

Anyway...

Birthdays... ugh... birthdays... might as well have some fun!  You only turn the big FOUR-OH once!

HAPPY 40th TO JORDAN!

I will be there far too soon (she is older... much older... okay, maybe not MUCH older, but older nonetheless!)... but tonight we get to party and at someone else's expense!

Billy has set it all up.  Adults only tonight.  Dinner reservations have been made.  The dance floor has been confirmed.  Hotel rooms have been acquired.  Fun will be had by all!

Special occasions deserve special attire.  Today I pull out a skirt that gets far too little love.  I last showed you this baby way back on Valentine's Day.  Hard to believe but that may have been the last time she saw the light of day... or the dark of night.  Somehow red leather is hard for me.  I am actually a little self conscious about it.  Wear my black & caramel leather skirts all the time but the red just hangs there.  Maybe that is telling me something?

Anyway... here she is...

I wish that you could really appreciate the look, color and feel of this skirt.  Truly fabulous.

$25.00 on EBay so I guess two appearances a year is a good investment?  What do you think?  I did wear it to work the one time.  Not sure that I can do that again... not even me.  Hee Hee

Mix in a cute white shirt from Talbots and the red is muted just a little... or...

Is the red actually highlighted all the more?

Thoughts?

My Stuart Wietzman's.  How many times have you seen these before?

I told you that they are wonderful for walking... we will see if they are great for dancing, too!

And the whole look...

Tonight is just going to be a blast but the whole day will be special.

I am heading over to pick my friend up for lunch later today.  She actually does not know about the party tonight (so thinks her husband anyway) so I invited her to a quiet lunch to celebrate her big day.

Just the two of us, no kids.  No men, just Jordan & Other Jordan

After lunch we will do a little shopping before I return her to her family in the late afternoon.

Billy is supposedly putting the finishing touches on tonight while I have her out.  Does he really think she is not suspicious?  Men are stupid.  Hee Hee

I am so looking forward to my day AND tonight!

Yes, I Did It... I Posted Again... Matchy, Matchy This Time...

Hey Guys!

It's an early start to another in a string of long days but I wanted to get an outfit post up.  I haven't been able to do that in several days.  I just know that each and every one of my loyal readers have been anxiously checking their computers hoping that today would be the day, huh?

Hee Hee

Anyway, yhis is actually what I wore yesterday.  Yesterday morning started with a yucky morning.  Much needed rain so I am thankful.

It did turn into a GORGEOUS day after starting out craptastic (thanks again Kassi) but given the start, I decided to go with a longer skirt for the day.

What do you think?  A little different for me, huh?  I like it though.

How cool is this little clasp?

Believe it or not, I bought these shoes the exact same day that I found this skirt.  When I saw them I just knew it was fate.  I had to justify it somehow... the shoes were not on sale.  Hee Hee

They are made for each other... don't you think?

Do you think I could wear these shoes with anything else?

I paired the skirt with this cute little white blouse.  I really didn't want anything taking away from "matchy - matchy" today.  I do love the big buttons on this blouse though.  The big buttons are even on the cuffs!

Simple, white but a little unique. Win - Win.

The blouse is from Talbots.  Not quite Harolds (sigh...) but Talbots is quite nice, too.  I have a few items from that store as well.  Hee Hee

Here is how it all came together.

No witty banter this morning.  Just too early and I have yet to even have my first cup of coffee.

Actually there wouldn't be much to tell anyway.  Just one lady that noticed my "matchy - matchy" skirt and shoes while I was standing in line for lunch.  She was sweet and very complimentary.

In case you are wonering, "No, these babies did not sniff the wet streets."

Today was a sneakers on the way to work, heels when I got to the office type of day.  Do you ever do that?  I did wear them home though... naturally.

I will honestly try to get today's outfit posted before the weekend is over.  Promise.
