Living On The Sun III...

It is over 100 degrees AGAIN... ugh!  Weatherman promises relief tomorrow... I hope so.

Enough complaining... let's move on.

In short, I am infinitely happier with today's ensemble.  The jury is still out on the blouse I wore yesterday but the feedback I received was really quite positive.  What do I know?

I still think I am leaning towards bidding it farewell.

One comment suggested a cool orange pencil skirt.  Perhaps I will try that?

Anyway, yesterday I went with pattern on top & basic on bottom.  Today we switch it around.

Today I started with some shoes that have never appeared here before.  There is good reason.  I do not wear them much.  It is just so HOT today that I decided to pull them out.  Give them a spin.

I am not much of a fan of a shoe that doesn't actually cover my whole foot but my pounding heart convinced me to give them a try.  The shoes actually called to me as I breezed by the shoe department.  I guess the buckles and pointed toe was just too much for logic to overcome.  Hee Hee

Do shoes talk to you at the store, too?

Alas, my brain was correct despite my heart's efforts to convince me otherwise and these beauties really do not get the love that they probably deserve.  Maybe I will make a better effort?

I adore this floral print skirt that I got at Harold's many years ago.  It is so light & airy.  Flowy.  Pretty.  Perfect for Spring & Summer.  I feel quite "girlie" whenever I wear it.

Look at the details.  The color.  Harold's was the best.

All together now... "Ahh... I wish that store were still open."

Throw in a very feminine & flowy white blouse and you have the perfect outfit for a day living on the sun.

Seriously, I envision our astronauts wearing this very ensemble when we first explore the sun.  Hee Hee

Do they work together?

And it all comes together like so...

Oh, yes, I do have some different shoes in my bag for the walk from DART to the office.  These cuties are great around the office but they really are not made for the sidewalk.

Tonight I head out to my sister's place for dinner and a sleepover.  Apparently the soccer games are quite early and I promised not to miss opening day so Sis suggested I come on out tonight.

I have a cute outfit planned for the games tomorrow.  Hope you like it?

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Mint Green & A Movie...

If you read my blog at all, you certainly know that I absolutely LOVE black.  Who doesn't?  It is just so easy, so versatile.  It goes with almost anything.  Always looks sharp.  What's not to love?

Today is a radical departure for my blog... but not actually unusal for me at all.  I actually wear this skirt quite often, especially during the warmer months.

For some reason it just hasn't appeared on my blog before?

This lovely mint green skirt is from Talbots.  I have had it since college.  Seriously.  Have a pastel pink one as well.  Both are in regular rotation and have been for years.  Amazing how a quality garmet will hold up for years if it is cared for.  Do you have anything more than ten years old that you still wear regularly?

Everytime I pull it out, I smile just a little.  The little pleats on the back are just too cute.  Hee Hee

Today I chose a little more "statement"... yet subduded.  Is that possible?  I think so.

Anyway... what do you think of the blouse I paired with the skirt?

Well?

Add in a sweet pair of suede heels with a cute little bow and I feel like a little girl getting ready for church on Sunday morning.  I may have to skip home this afternoon?  Hee Hee

I showed you the heels back in December and mentioned how they made me feel "girlie" then, too.  Funny.

And it all comes together...

It is Friday.  I go out to Sis's place tonight after work for dinner and a movie with the kids.  My niece told me the movie's name but it didn't mean anything to me.  Hee Hee  Sis tells me to just smile.  She also tries to convince me that some of them are even good.  Hee Hee

No matter, I cherish these moments.  They are growing so fast... already.  I know that they have only been out here a few months but I swear that both of them have grown about six inches.

Well, gotta get out the door and off to work.  Need to leave on time tonight... don't want to be late for my dinner and movie date.

It Has Only Been A Month... Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Am I permitted to say that to myself?

Not sure?

Oh well, here I am returning to the blogosphere again anyway.  I hope anyone who does actually stop down for a brief read here (and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to those that do) in my little of the world wide web, deserves a bit of an apology.  Keeping up is hard.  I am amazed by those that manage to post virtually every day.  You guys are an inspiration... and a small bit of frustration... Hee Hee.

Moving on...

For those that did read my previous post... my meeting did not go well enough apparently.  Our client decided to go with another firm.  These things happen.  Do you think it was my suit?  Perhaps I should have gone with one of my leather skirts?  Hee Hee

Sis returned with my niece and nephew so my "family commitments" picked back up again.  They are settling in and doing as well as can be expected.  Thanks to all for your best wishes and prayers.

Oh yea, this is supposed to be a fashion blog...

Here is today's take on "corporate chic"... Jordan style...

Today I am going for the whole "School Girl" look... albeit a little older student... Hee Hee

I think that I have shown you this blouse before but (to be brutally honest) I am too lazy to look back thru my posts to check.  Hee Hee

Ladies, do not fret, there is a camisole, I am not letting it all hang out.  Hee Hee

I love how "girly" I feel when I wear this blouse.  It is one of the few things that I wear that I do not tuck in.  It is just so light, so "flowy", so "frilly"... I just do not want to be "polished" when I wear it.

I wore this blouse to the office just a few days ago with a different skirt but all day at work yesterday all I could seem to think about was plaid.  Plaid computer screens.  Plaid cars.  Plaid report covers.  Plaid everything.  Perhaps a little overstated?  I know, weird.  Does anyone else go thru a day with patterns bouncing around in their head?  Perhaps I should see a professional?  Hee Hee

Anyway, switcharoo and here we are... I like this skirt.  Honestly, I do not wear it much but I like it.  It kinda has that "Catholic School Girl" appeal to it.  Don't you think?

A quick little zoom in

The two together in all their glory...

To finish things off... a great pair of interesting shoes.  At least I think so.

These lovelies have been in my wardrobe for years.  I wish that I would have purchased both a black and a tan pair when I bought these so I could wear them more often.  LOVE the crocodile pattern!  Great heel, too!  Just the right height for my liking.  Not too tall.  Not too short.  Perfect.

What do you think of the toes?  Cool, huh?

And the entire ensemble...

Well, it is now time to read a blog or two and then get the coffee started.  Busy day ahead.

Look forward to reading your comments and again, welcome back!

Hot Outside - Hot Inside...

OK, truth... I could not help but laugh a little when I decided to go with that title for today's post.

There is good reason though...

I went all demure & ladylike all week.  It's Friday.  No Aunt Jordan tonight.  Soccer games tomorrow so sis gave me the night off.  Hee Hee

I am meeting the girls for drinks after work tonight so I thought something more my "style" would be good.

I even have to snicker a little as I type that.  What "style"?  Hee Hee

Anyway, today's ensemble.

Simple black & white combination.  My staple.  My go-to.  My "comfort zone".

I started with a great turtle neck.  It is May.  It will be 90 degrees today.  I know.  I like a great sweater.

Paired the sweater with my beloved black leather skirt.  Naturally.

But at the last minute... I opted for a 'pop' of color.  These shoes really are quite lovely.  At least I think so.

And the entire ensemble...

Okay, the title of the post VERY quickly...

I have mentioned in the past (More Polka Dots Post) how awesome my boss truly is.  LOVE her.

Well, today I arrived at the office early so I don't feel bad about slipping out for "happy hour" a little earlier than I would normally take off on a Friday.  When my boss arrived, she spotted me in the hallway and said this, "My, it is as hot in here as it is out there." as she was checking out my wardrobe.  Then she says, "Jordan, I want those shoes.  Not kidding, I want them."

And with that little comment a blog post title is born.  Hee Hee

Well, enough with the blogging... back to work...
