OOTD: Soccer Saturday...

My niece and nephew have invited me to their soccer games today.

I will be the first to admit, I really do not know much about the game.

The kids seem to enjoy playing so I suppose that is all that matters.

However, I must confess... it really is not my favorite thing to do on a Saturday.

I go because they like Aunt Jordan to be there.

However, the day will be nice despite the soccer.

Hee Hee

You see, the first game is early in the morning and the second game is not until after lunch.  In between, brunch with Sis and her kids.  Now that is my idea of a relaxing Saturday morning.

Hee Hee

So how does a confessed member of the Community of Girls Who Love Skirts deal with such a day?

By wearing slacks... of course...

Breath... just breath... I know it is a switch.

I will not except liability for any medical bills associated with heart failure or the like caused by today's wardrobe choice.

Hee Hee

This ensemble is certainly "casual" for me but it seemed appropriate.

I have been to the games in a skirt and heels before but today I thought that I would be a little more low key.

There is a chill in the air this morning.  A real chill in the air.  Brrr...

It is shaping up to be a glorious fall day in Texas.

In order to compensate for the rather subdud nature of the slacks and the top, I opted to go with some color and chic texture.  I think this wonderful burgundy leather blazer makes things a little more interesting.

What do you think?

I think the jacket really pulls out the color in the pinstripe pattern on these slacks, too.

Win. Win.

Add in these cute little burgundy'ish short boots and I think I have come up with an ensemble that I will be happy with for the day.

So... Did The Leather Skirt do well for a chilly day of soccer?

Hope the kids win!

Have A Wonderful Saturday!

An Easy Sunday...

Sunday is meant for rest.  I rarely get to take advantage of this fact.  Today I did.

Yesterday was rather hectic.  Mostly fun, but busy.

This morning I went to church and then I returned home.  That's it.  Honest.

Read some of my favorite blogs.  LOVE doing that.

Picked up a bit around the house.

Made myself some lunch.

Sat out on my balcony and read.

Watched TWO movies!

In other words... BLISS!

In anticipation of such an Easy Sunday I decided an easy outfit would be appropriate.

This is a top that has not made it to the blog before. Honestly, I rarely wear it.  I am not sure it is appropriate for the office.  A little too casual for my liking.

The suede skirt is a recent acquisition but one that I absolutely LOVE to wear.  I will never lose my fascination with a great finished leather but suede certainly has a place in my heart, too.

The heels are something that I tend to break out when a "dash" of color just seems necessary.  Today I actually selected them because I think they compliment the skirt and top very well.

Burgundy is arguably the "it" color of the season.  I prefer to think of burgundy as a "family" of colors, rather than just one simple shade or tone.

This top is more accurately a shade of "cranberry" but I would argue that is very much part of the "burgundy family".

What do you think?

There are three very important things about this top.

1)  Very comfortable.

2)  Very feminine.  Are you kidding... look at the flower details and the "girly" sleeves.

3)  It is OLD.  I could not even begin to try and guess where it came from.

You have seen this lovely pink suede skirt before.

I last posted it on the blog here.

This baby was a steal off EBay!  $10!!!

No kidding!  Ten dollars!  Can you believe that?

Butter soft like a good suede should be.  Fabulous skirt!

Oh, and how cute are those pleats?

I also happen to think the top and the skirt go very well together.  The pink and the cranberry tones compliment one another so very well.

What do you think?

I decided my trusty Evan Picone croc print heels would be the perfect finishing touch.

Burgundy, "No."

Some shade that fits well into the "burgundy family"... I say "Yes!"

How about you?

Well, that is the story of the "burgundy family"... at least according to Jordan... The Leather Skirt.

I truly appreciate each and every comment that you fashionable ladies take the time to write.

They all mean so much.

Look forward to reading what you have to say... especially the sweet ones.

Sometimes You Just Need A Great Pair Of Heels...

AM I RIGHT?

SOMETIMES ANY OUTFIT IS JUST BETTER WITH A GREAT PAIR OF HEELS.

ISN'T IT?

As I mentioned a couple of times recently, I am "drawn" to higher heeled shoes of late.

I am also developing a bit of a crush on almost anything with a leopard print.

So why not have both?

Today's outfit started right there.. with a great pair of leopard print heels.

These are my recent acquisitions from AT LOFT.

LOVE them!  LOVE everything about them!

The heel height... so much to my recent liking.

The leopard print... one of the best that I saw anywhere as I looked for the perfect pair of heels in this particular pattern.
AT LOFT was actually one of my last stops.  Should have looked there first.  Hee Hee

The fit... perfect!

Comfort... so much better than I feared.  I wore them all day... even walked to the DART station and to lunch in them.

What do you think of the whole ensemble?

Personally, I really like this burgundy blouse.  So feminine.  I feel like such a "girl" when I wear it.

I think the outfit just "sings" with these fantastic heels.

Such a gorgeous color...

...Brings out the pinstripes in this amazing skirt.

I have had this skirt for so many years.  It has more than earned its keep.

Well?

Today was a typical day.  Up early, out for a run.  Short run, still recovering.

Shower, dress and out the door.

What was fun... I had gotten my first compliment on these shoes before I even made it to the DART station.

A lady jogging by said, "Great shoes!" as she passed.  I had to smile.

Once I arrived at the DART station I sat down to wait.

I happened to be sitting next to a smartly dressed woman who looked over to take notice.  She said, "I love that pattern.  Lovely shoes."  Again, I had to smile.

The ladies at the office were very complimentary as well.  Such a good feeling.

The best compliment of all... yours... hint... hint...

Have A Great Day!

Another Lunchtime Post...

Hello All,

I will not waste your time with excuses... I just have not had time to blog...

Today I am getting an outfit post up for the first time since May 4th, yes, 26 days ago.  Oh well.

Anyway, this one will be very quick... not unlike how today's outfit came together this morning.  For those that read my blog, you know that is not normal.  I am an obssessive planner, especially when it comes to my daily attire.  I rarely do what I did today... completely change my mind.

With that in mind, be kind, this ensemble came together fast... no time to think or re-think.

The ensemble...

This skirt is the reason that I changed my mind about what I would wear today.  I noticed the cool little "animal" print slit and it began to call to me.  Anyone else ever have such an experience?  I just had to figure out how to wear it today... I HAD to.  Hee Hee

Seriously, I do think the little pattern in the slit is unique and cool.  What do you think?

I went with this wine colored sheer blouse mostly because I wanted to wear it... despite the fact that I am not completely sure it goes with this skirt.  It is light & so feminine.  I love wearing it.

The pattern in the skirt is actually brown but when paired with this particular blouse I think it comes off alomst burgandy.  Well?  Do you go along with that?

And the two in their full glory.

Finally, I added my brown "chunky" shooties that I don't believe you have seen here before.  As I said, this came together FAST this morning so I forgot to photograph the shoes.  Sorry.

So... how did I do?

Gotta go, need to get a little something in me before my afternoon meeting.

See Ya!
